I have always had an interest in health and have been studying naturopathy for two years, so I ate pretty well before quitting sugar.
But I still felt like my health wasn’t as good as it could have been. My skin wasn’t great, I had digestive issues and my energy levels were up and down. I also had really bad PMS, which was debilitating at times.
I can remember reading Sarah’s very first post about quitting sugar and thinking, “Good for her but I could never do that!”.
Still, her story intrigued me. As I watched the 8-Week Program come to life, I couldn’t help but think that maybe giving up sugar was just what I needed to do in order to sort out my lingering health issues.
To say I was terrified about the prospect of giving up sugar would be a massive understatement.
I couldn’t imagine how I was going to survive without my favourite afternoon snack of a few pieces of chocolate, let alone give up my beloved gin and tonic!
My cravings no longer dictate what and how much I eat, I now let my natural appetite lead the way.
But in the end, giving up sugar was so much easier than I thought it would be.

I had struggled with acne since my teenage years and now, for the first time in my adult life, my skin is completely clear. By far the biggest benefit though has been the reduction in how bad my PMS is.
