Tell us about what you do and why?
I am a naturopath and nutritional therapist. I work holistically, so I work with supporting a healthy diet and lifestyle but also bodywork for supporting the body, and breath work, flower remedies and meditation techniques to support the mental and emotional body.
Why are you such a firm believer in the IQS philosophy?
Because home cooking is vital to our health and wellbeing, not only from a preparing fresh ingredients standpoint, but also in terms of the energy and love that goes into making that meal to nurture your body. I agree with the philosophy of eating full fats and whole foods, as fat is so important for our health. Good fats provide the structure of EVERY cell membrane in our body, support healthy mental function and reduce inflammation in our body. They also provide the backbone for our hormones. Hence the words “essential” fatty acids.
I also love that IQS focuses on good home-cooked foods and not particular fad superfoods (in my opinion, ALL natural plant-based foods are super and not just coconut/kale/”insert the latest one here”).
The IQS Team are coming for dinner. What are you cooking us?
If it was a summer evening I would probably make one of my favourite dishes which is white fish and caper patties with preserved lemon and burnt aubergine dip. With that I’d make a delicious mixed bean and red pepper salad. For a winter dinner I would probably make a big tagine with juicy olives and lemon flavours, and serve that with some quinoa with masses of chopped parsley and pomegranate seeds mixed through it.
